Today is the last day of the Georgia General Assembly. The Georgia House of Representatives will likely vote on an anti-immigrant bill that would harm public safety all over the state and would further make Georgia un-welcoming by creating a police state for everyone to prove legal status with every interaction with law enforcement, even for minor crimes. We need your calls all day today!
This legislation, SB452, is likely unconstitutional and would undermine community policing. It would clog the courts, depress our economy and tear families apart. Please call your Georgia House Representative today at 1-855-727-7407 and tell her/him this bill is bad for public safety and that they should vote NO on SB452! The New Americans Campaign is hosting a free citizenship workshop April 21st at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 2855 Briarcliff Rd NE Atlanta, GA 30329. At this free naturalization workshop, we will be helping green card holders apply for U.S. citizenship. Green card holders will be given one-on-one assistance in completing their application forms and fee waivers, provided with individual legal review by an attorney, and given a clear list of next steps
