December 14, 2015
Advocacy Alert
The #IamGALEO social media campaign continues. Latino leaders across the state are posting on social media why GALEO is important to them and to our community.
GALEO is more than just 5 letters. We want to hear from you and are asking that you post on facebook, twitter, instagram or youtube to let us know why GALEO is important to you and why you continue to engage in our communities. Please use the #IamGALEO.
2016 will be an important year for us all. There are efforts in the Georgia Legislature to make English the official language, to take driver’s licenses away from deferred action students (DREAMers) and likely many other anti-immigrant legislative initiatives. We must be ready. Please encourage your friends to text the word GALEO to the shortcode number of 22828 to encourage them to subscribe to these advocacy emails. We will need all to be ready to take action in the new year.
In addition, we are recruiting educators, administrators and students to support efforts for Georgia DREAMers to have access to in-state tuition in Georgia. YOUR support is needed and see how you can help below. Forward this to anyone you know who support DREAMers getting access to in-state tuition.
Volunteers are also needed for naturalization ceremonies. Please see below.
Lots of options for you to get involved!
