#GALatinoVote #iamGALEO

September 21, 2016

Thank you to all of our volunteers from last week!  On Friday, we registered over 350 people at their naturalization ceremony at Turner Field.  On Saturday, we helped 120 LPR’s process their paperwork for becoming U.S. citizens.  On Sunday, we registered more eligible Latinos to vote at the Fiestas Patrias Univision event at Plaza Fiesta.  ALL of this was accomplished with YOUR help and many volunteers!  THANK YOU!

We still need your help on Sunday.  VOLUNTEERS are also needed!  We need you to sign up for as many of these volunteer opportunities as you can.  Please see below for details and let us know how YOU can help!

Please see below for information on how to check online if you are registered to vote and to see what address you have listed. The #GALatinoVote grows stronger every day and you must engage in all elections this year!

Please spread the word in social media and share this email as well!

Thank you!

Volunteers needed to protect the #GALatinoVote for Election Day and EARLY VOTING!

The 2016 Election is the FIRST presidential election without key protections of the Voting Rights Act (VRA), which means many Latinx/a/o voters across the country could face discrimination before Election Day.  You can help prevent and stop discrimination at the polls.  Sign up to volunteer with LatinoJustice & GALEO at #CadaVotoCuenta today:

Citizenship Day on Sunday with AAAJ -Atlanta!

Please share this with people who may qualify to become U.S. citizens.  Please call today at 404.890.5655 to request an appointment.

The #GALatinoVote grows in strength and numbers!  Help us engage our community and encourage them to vote.

The Georgia Latino Vote has grown a LOT!  In 2003, when we started as an organization, there were only 10,000 Latinos registered to vote.  The latest estimate of the Latino electorate puts that strength at over 330,000 voters.

Many Latino voters found out too late that they were not registered or that they had not updated their voter registration information after they had moved.

Please check if you are registered to vote here, check to make sure you are registered to vote in your current address, and to find your polling location here:  https://www.mvp.sos.ga.gov/MVP/mvp.do

If you are NOT registered to vote OR if you have moved, you should register to vote online or update your information at www.GALEO.org

If you have questions or experienced problems in voting, you may also call us at 1-888-54GALEO for assistance in English or Spanish.
