Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta:  Program Officer

The Program Officer is responsible for operational and administrative functions associated with several assigned community initiatives, including but not limited to, Grants to Green and Local Funds (see Foundation’s website for a description of each initiative). This individual ensures an effective and efficient operation and reports directly to the director, regional impact. 

The position requires experience in program management, budgeting, volunteer management, grant making and event planning.The position also requires experience in or knowledge of philanthropy and the nonprofit sector.The individual must be highly organized, flexible, able to multi-task and have strong interpersonal skills. The individual must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel as needed. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential as well as comfort interacting with diverse audiences. The individual must exude a positive and helpful attitude that supports accomplishment of shared goals. Familiarity with community issues and players in the region is strongly preferred.
