Reform Immigration FOR America (RI4A) is the online component of a united national effort organized under the banner of the “Alliance for Citizenship” that brings together individuals and grassroots organizations with the mission to build widespread support for workable, humane, comprehensive immigration reform. Since its launch in 2009, RI4A has built up a strong digital community through email, SMS and social media immigration activists dedicated to our cause. Position Description:
Reform Immigration FOR America is seeking a Digital Campaigner to help mobilize and grow the RI4A online community, which comprises more than one million members across email, SMS, and social media platforms. The Digital Campaigner will work with the Digital Director to move our online communities up the ladder of engagement in the fight for comprehensive immigration reform as well as successful implementation of administrative relief.
The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in developing and implementing effective online advocacy strategies with a goal of growing and engaging our base of supporters. The Digital Campaigner should be a self-starter, data driven, and experienced online organizer with a clear vision of how to use digital platforms to mobilize online communities.
Principal Responsibilities:
· Support Digital Director to develop and implement RI4A online strategy to activate and grow our online community.
· Work with coalition partners to develop comprehensive digital strategies, provide coverage and support for grassroots events, and mobilize groups around RI4A online calls to action.
· Monitor website analytics and manages social media ads including developing strategy and budget guidelines.
· Assist in managing digital channels and drafting engaging content, including email and SMS alerts, blogs posts, and social media graphics and content.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years professional experience in online or traditional communications for a nonprofit or advocacy organization.
· Strong writing skills, close attention to detail, and ability to adapt and react quickly as projects change and evolve.
· In-depth understanding of digital trends, best practices, and limitations/benefits of these technologies.
· Commitment to the advancement of progressive causes, particularly immigration reform, and an understanding of how online organizing can help campaigns accelerate their communications.
· Ability to work well in a collaborative, team environment.
· Willingness and desire to learn new technologies, tactics, and strategies to apply to the campaign.
· Ability to write and speak Spanish is preferred, but not required.
