EARLY EDUCATION LIBRARY ASSOCIATE

As an Early Education Library Associate you play a critical role in making a positive impact in our community. You are passionate about promoting Library services and programs, seeking to provide pro-active service. You will support and be actively engaged and involved with all facets of early literacy at the Branch level, perform outreach to assigned community and schools, develop and implement programs for early learners in consultation with Branch Manager and Youth Services staff, serve as a liaison with the Youth Services Department, and provide input for early learning collection development. Plan and host Toddler Time and Pre-school Story time, and extension activities; determine community Youth Literacy programming gaps and develop, plan, implement and conduct creative programs and activities beneficial to the local community to encourage the use of the library by early learners; and maintain and cultivate working relationships with pre-schools, elementary school librarians, teachers, principals, parent groups and community organizations. You are the first impression of the library, assisting customers of all ages with their information needs and resource recommendations. You consistently ensure support in all areas of daily branch operations including registering new customers, assisting with technology needs, locating and processing library materials, and resolving customer account issues. You wow both internal and external customers with your efficient and courteous service.

– Experience in Early Childhood Development is highly preferred
