THE SEARCH
The EARTH University Foundation seeks a dynamic and successful fundraising professional to serve as its next Executive Director. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, s/he will chart the future of North American philanthropic support for EARTH University, an innovative academic institution in Guácimo, Costa Rica that has been preparing young people from Latin America, Africa, Asia and other regions to contribute to the sustainable development of their countries since 1990. With a new President in office and a strategic plan underway, this is an exciting time for a successful fundraising professional to expand the reach and the scope of the Foundation’s current fundraising by strengthening ties with existing donors as well as engaging new donors who have an appreciation for EARTH University’s mission.
While reporting directly to the University’s Vice President of Development, as well as the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, the Executive Director will also work closely with the University President and his senior administration. S/he will bring passion, innovation and an entrepreneurial spirit to building and guiding a development enterprise and an ability to craft a compelling case for support that will inspire the next generation of donors to EARTH University. The position calls for a seasoned development professional with a proven track record of securing major gifts as well as experience in leading and mentoring a fundraising team.
Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills are critical to the success of the Executive Director as well as a reputation for integrity and the highest ethical standards. A bachelor’s degree is required, as is the ability to travel, both domestically and internationally. Proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable.
