Georgia State House Legislative Internship

 

Rep. Lopez is ready to build her 2018 legislative team!

 

The position will perform a variety of legislative duties relating to office and constituent services.  The duties include conducting research and reports; receiving and resolving inquiries from constituents; attending meetings and briefing on behalf of Rep. Lopez; and preparing policy memos.  In addition to working effectively with constituents, community groups, and elected and appointed officials; and analyzing a variety of complex policy issues.

 

The position requires canvassing or knocking on doors in district 99 and constituent outreach to schools, business, organizations, and faith groups. 

 

This position may also be responsible for producing the newsletter, monitoring social media, and working on presentations and graphic designs. 

 

This position requires the ability to travel.  This position requires odd hours and a flexible schedule including some weekends and evenings.  

 

Minimum Qualifications                

 

Experience:  One (1) year of experience in legislative/policy research or communications and/or advocacy experience in government affairs or community organizing and development.

 

Education:  Preference for current college students and/or recent graduates/some college education.

 

Language: Preference to those that are fluent (speak, read, and write) in Spanish, Vietnamese, or Arabic.
