October 21, 2014 (ATLANTA, GA) – Jerry Gonzalez, Executive Director of GALEO, released this statement regarding Azteca America’s effort to promote voting within the Latino community:
“GALEO applauds the efforts of Azteca America in conducting a 15 hour live phone bank on October 23rd to answer questions from Latino voters across the country about voting in the midterm elections. The Georgia Latino Vote is growing stronger every day and could be very important with our tight and competitive elections. If 200,000 Latino voters show up and vote in Georgia this election cycle, our community’s presence will be felt in both the Gubernatorial and U.S. Senate races.
In Georgia, GALEO has a message service available (1-888-54GALEO) as well for Latino voters who need some assistance in voting in either English or Spanish. Unfortunately, Georgia does not have language assistance in any other language other than English for voters exercising their right to vote. GALEO is also ready to assist Spanish speaking voters to ensure that every vote counts!”
