8. Friday, September 27, 9:30 am – Southeast Climate Strike & Rebellion. Business as Usual = Mass Extinction. Register at https://files.earth-strike.com/apps/forms/form/vBN0auZ2J3lKhcug Rebellion Against the Government for Criminal Inaction, a non-violent strike in rebellion against our criminally negligent government on behalf of life itself. We cannot stand idly by and allow the ongoing destruction of all we love. We have a right and duty to rebel against an economic system whose goal is to make profit and protect the powerful, where our lives and the Earth are used up and destroyed so the rich can get richer. As part of a season of global climate actions, groups from throughout the Southeast intend to bring thousands of people into the streets of Atlanta to declare that we will no longer accept business as usual. So, organizers have declared the action: “to demonstrate the power of people working collectively through a general strike in order disrupt business as usual, to change the system so it may no longer hold us hostage”. The organizers plan: “Meet at the Lenox MARTA station. There will be a street party, reclaiming the streets as a place for the people with musicians, speakers, food and a family-friendly celebration of mass, nonviolent civil disobedience. We will stop the flow of traffic because we know that those in power only pay attention when their economy gets interrupted and when people are willing to risk their liberty. Any inconvenience to the general public comes not out of malice but desperation, and because this crisis affects all of us.” If you are down for this follow this event page for info and updates https://www.facebook.com/events/720135388444595/ Biggest day ever of Climate Action on view?
