Field Organizer – The Southern Workers Organizing Committee/Raise Up for $15 
The “Fight for 15” campaign is a national coordinated campaign that demands a $15 living wage and the right to form a union without retaliation. Looking for enthusiastic, passionate, and dedicated worker organizers to join the team. Past organizing experience is strongly preferred but not necessary. Strong preference for women and people of color to apply. Field organizers will be tasked with supporting the field organizing team—empowering low wage workers to organize their coworkers to demand living wages and dignity on the job. Under the direction of the Field Director you will reach out to low wage workers across the city you are based within and help offer workers organizing tools and tactics for them to build the low wage worker movement. As part of our commitment to economic justice there is not an educational requirement. Relevant organizing experience is a plus. Fluency in spoken Spanish also a major plus. Politically savvy, with at least a basic knowledge of the unions, organizing, labor history, and national politics. Offers a competitive salary, commensurate with experience. Full time position is subject to trial period of 90 days. AAAJ-Atlanta is seeking an energetic self-starter to join a fast-paced team. Will report directly to the Executive Director and provide both online and offline support for programs, particularly around the education campaign on President Obama’s recent Executive Order and implementation of DACA/ DAPA. Candidates must have strong skills in communications, new media, relationship building, advocacy, and mobilizing the public while being a self-starter, inquisitive, detailed-oriented, up-to-date on best practices in communications, and able to effectively work independently and as part of a team. Ideal candidates will also have direct experience in community outreach, organizing, coalition building and/or offline public engagement.
