The American Civil Liberties Union of Georgia (ACLU of GA) seeks a sophisticated and experienced policy advocate to advance its civil liberties and civil rights agenda. The Policy Counsel provides vision and direction for the ACLU of Georgia’s policy and legislative program. The position is primarily responsible for state legislative and executive branch advocacy but also engages with administrative agencies, local government bodies, ballot measure campaigns, and the Georgia Congressional delegation. JD required and at least one year of local, state, and/or national-level legislative, political or policy advocacy work, preferably in Georgia. And, of course, substantial knowledge of civil liberties and civil rights issues and a commitment to advancing the ACLU’s values, mission and goals.
