Communications and Outreach Associate – Asian Americans Advancing Justice – Atlanta (formerly Asian American Legal Advocacy Center or AALAC)
AAAJ-Atlanta is seeking an energetic self-starter to join a fast-paced team. Will report directly to the Executive Director and provide both online and offline support for programs, particularly around the education campaign on President Obama’s recent Executive Order and implementation of DACA/ DAPA. Candidates must have strong skills in communications, new media, relationship building, advocacy, and mobilizing the public while being a self-starter, inquisitive, detailed-oriented, up-to-date on best practices in communications, and able to effectively work independently and as part of a team. Ideal candidates will also have direct experience in community outreach, organizing, coalition building and/or offline public engagement. Consumer Education Specialist – Georgians for a Healthy Future
Nonprofit consumer health advocacy organization has an immediate opening. The Consumer Education Specialist will serve as a conduit between health care consumers in Georgia and GHF’s policy-oriented staff and coalition partners, working directly with consumers to provide assistance and referrals while also identifying themes and trends to inform community outreach, education, and policy work. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in public policy, public health, or other relevant field, 1-3 years relevant experience with community outreach or consumer assistance, knowledge of public and private health insurance, excellent written and oral communications skills. Executive Director – American Civil Liberties Union of GA (ACLU)
The ACLU of Georgia is positioned for growth and seeking entrepreneurial leader to grow the staff, increase reach and impact building on ACLU history of successes in the court room as well as our work to end the School to Prison pipeline in Georgia and protecting the fundamental rights of immigrants. The ED will serve as the chief executive officer of the ACLU-GA, with primary responsibility for managing the organization’s day-to-day activities and operations, leading the organization’s fund development efforts, directing the work of a professional staff, and serving as the primary spokesperson for the ACLU-GA. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED will ensure that the organization is fiscally sound and that its internal and external communications, fund development, and programs are meeting the current and emergent needs and interests of its constituents. The ED will have a working knowledge of civil liberties issues and policies and be a leader and manager who is adept at balancing internal management with external impact and visibility. The individual must be an outstanding communicator who is able to convey effectively the mission and activities of the ACLU-GA to a variety of constituencies, as well as to the broader public.
