The Gwinnett County Voter Registrations and Elections Division is calling on Gwinnett County residents to participate in the 2016 elections as paid poll officials. About 80 additional poll officials are needed for the March 1 Presidential Preference Primary and many more are needed throughout the year.
Successful poll officials demonstrate patience, enjoy working with people, take direction well, and are detail oriented. Poll officials earn $75 to $300 per day, depending on the position.
To be a poll official, you must:
• Be a U.S. citizen and a resident or employee of Gwinnett County
• Be at least 16 years old
• Be able to read, write, and speak English
• Not have been convicted of a felony involving moral turpitude or judicially determined to be mentally incompetent
Other requirements for poll officials:
• Officials must have transportation to and from the polling location and must be able to work at their assigned polling location the whole day.
• Officials must have access to a computer to complete online training; additional training may be required.
• When possible, poll officials are assigned to their home precinct; however if there no vacancies at the polling location, they will be asked to work at a different precinct.
If you have family members, friends, or neighbors who may be interested in being a poll official, encourage them to apply today at www.gwinnettcountyjobs.com (search for Poll Official). Help make every vote count this election year!
Please help spread the word!
