Legislative Research Fellow

JOB TITLE: Legislative Research Fellow
JOB DESCRIPTION: ProGeorgia is seeking a talented individual with an interest in progressive politics to assist with research projects. The legislative research fellow will collect, catalog and analyze research in an effort to enhance the mission of ProGeorgia and its partner organizations. This position reports to the ProGeorgia Communications Manager.
About ProGeorgia: ProGeorgia is a statewide network committed to the goal of ensuring that every Georgian is able to fully participate in our democracy. ProGeorgia is a new model for coordination among nonpartisan 501(c)3 organizations that have civic engagement as a core part of their mission. ProGeorgia is a permanent collective impact initiative focused on solving real problems for real people in Georgia, and bringing greater equity to our state. Through common sense collaboration and increasing political engagement, we work to create measurable positive change in our state. We work collectively to achieve shared goals, increase effectiveness, reduce duplication, and embrace a new way of doing our work that will result in greater impact. We are a member of the national State Voices network now active in over 22 states across the country. Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Key Qualifications
- Ability to conduct themselves professionally in diverse situations;
- Basic familiarity with the Georgia Legislature and the legislative process is preferred but not required;
- A quick learner who takes thoughtful initiative;
- Dedication to progressive social change;
- Quick on their feet and can react appropriately in challenging situations;
- Experience with modern recording devices
- Experience with social media, including GoPro, Drop Box, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram;
- A flexible schedule with the ability to work during the week on short notice;
- Excellent organizational, time-management and prioritizing skills; and
- Experience with video and audio compilation/editing is a plus.
