Our Regional Sales Associate opening is an opportunity to work with a Regional Vice President who is committed to the development of those on his team. You bring the drive, initiative, and experience with retail sales or retail management, and your RVP will provide both coaching to help you develop new skills and challenges to help grow your existing skills.
The ideal candidate for this position will live within a reasonable commute to our Support Center located in Suwanee, GA. Candidates in FL and TN may also be considered provided you have easy access to a major airport. Our RSA opening does involve 80% or more travel.

Summary: The general purpose of this job is to provide entire region store coverage in the event of illness, vacations, emergencies, or any other times when a store within the region requires coverage. The person must be able to perform all the job responsibilities just as the store manager would perform them. When not covering stores, the associate will be assigned to a home store and also assist the Regional Vice President on various projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Store Audits – will conduct store audits as designated by RVP
- Retail Duties – includes renting tools, selling merchandise, stocking store and ordering product
- In store proactive retail selling. Work with customer in the store and provide sales and service for all Ames tools and related merchandise
- Create store plans that improve operations to include turns, appearance, slow movers, collections, etc.
- Creating and monitoring schedules and goals for stores and projects
- Build a Business to Customer selling relationship with customers
- Identify areas where field employees need training and provide ongoing training and development support to store managers
- Inventory Management – responsible for ensuring inventory is properly accounted for
- Effective Merchandising – Familiar with concepts of merchandising, product placement, add ons, etc.
- Computer Operations – Experienced with different software, web-based applications
- Cash Management – Responsible for balancing cash, making deposits, etc.
- Collections – assist in collecting past due accounts
- Shipping and Receiving – Experience with shipping large boxes; receiving inventory both physically and into the system
- Maintain store for organized and clean shopping environment
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience:: Bachelor’s degree with related retail and selling experience or High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and related retail and selling experience.
Competencies: Experienced store operations associate with outstanding skills in customer service, product knowledge, understanding of and ability to sell the importance of service and propositions, inventory control experience, problem solving skills (both technical & financial) , good communications skills verbal and written, computer skills and ability to build relationships with repeat customers.
Language Skills:: (Spanish/English) Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Bi-Lingual English/Spanish Required.
Mathematical Skills:: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:: Requires valid driver license with good driving record.
Other skills and abilities: Computer proficiency required. Must be comfortable with web-based applications.
